President’s Boiler

The Boiler has now been retubed and we are now just waiting to complete the preparation of President before we refit. This is involving a considerable amount of work and YOU could play a part. As a society we rely on a few doing a lot and the few have just finished a fantastic job on Kildare’s restoration, so please give some time. Nick Haynes is organising work parties, so please contact him for details. Don’t worry about your skill levels, there is always something to do. 2007

Crewing Programme

We have now finalised out 2007 schedule and you will find details enclosed. We are attempting the journey to the IWA festival in St. Ives, a first for a FMC steamer. The plan is to do a tour of the adjoining waterway towns to promote the Museum, so it will be a great summer. Please send your availability back to Richard Thomas ASAP.

Production of 195 delayed

195 was due to be included in this mailing but due to production delays it is not yet ready, so a quick Steaming Up has been produced to keep you all up to date.

Crewing Questionnaire

Also enclosed is a questionnaire we would ask you to complete and let us know your feeling about crewing the boats. As explained it has been initiated due to problems last year in filling crewing positions for our planned, if not executed, schedule.

AGM

This year's AGM has been scheduled for Saturday 21st April. We hope you are able to attend. Please let me know if you are coming. As you will notice on the Agenda we have added a Tour of the Museum to help increase our understanding of what the Museum provides so that we can talk knowledgeably during our 2007 Programme.

To control numbers we have also added a session for all you budding rope splicers who have looked in wonder as to what some of our members are able to do with a piece of rope. This will be your chance to join their ranks.

Membership Renewal

Finally I have included membership renewal notices, which I would appreciate if you would check and send me your renewal, if you don't pay by standing order. You might find I've included a Standing Order Form for you. This is for those who unfortunately are still paying the old 2005 rate.
