She’s back – Dave Stott re-launches President

On Wednesday 3rd July at 2:30 the restoration of President took a huge step forward when she was craned back in to water. About 40 members, press and public witnessed President returning to the water after almost 18 months on dry land. The operation went smoothly with a 50-ton crane being squeezed into Ian Kemp’s Dadfords wharf. The boat weighing in at 12.5 tonnes. |
| Dave Stott did the honours cracking a ceremonial bottle of beer provided by Harry Stoopman over the fore end. It was wonderful to see her return to her natural environment. The Press turned up in force with no less than 3 film crews, Central TV, BBC local news and the team from Waterworld. In addition the local papers were well represented. | |
