Steam narrow boat President
Photo Album & Video Contents page
A growing resource of photographs of President & Kildare
This is one of the oldest known photographs of President,
taken at Buckby lock 11 on the Grand Junction canal, with Captain James
Woodfield at the helm, c.1910.
Although many photographs of other steamers at this position are around, the similar
photograph of President remained hidden for many years. This photograph was "discovered" by
FoP during the first "replica" fly run in 1991. Read the story here,
The London & Birmingham Railway embankment is just visible in the background,
along the tree line.
